Smith and Syberg was founded in 1989 in Columbus, Indiana. As an executive search firm, our pattern of success is based upon our firm's philosophy to form collaborative, long term relationships with the clients we serve. Our search expertise is utilized for senior and executive management positions. Clients range from small, entrepreneurial growth companies to Fortune 500 corporations. Our industrial segment includes manufacturing, distribution, utilities, and medical products. Additional segments include airlines, financial/professional services, and not-for-profit. We are a member firm in AESC (Association of Executive Search Consultants, Inc.), the premier association representing executive consulting firms worldwide. In addition to executive search, Smith and Syberg offers Selection Consulting Services to assist companies with recruitment strategy, sourcing, evaluation and hiring of critical employees. Joe has a BA in Accounting from Western Illinois University. After initially working for a CPA firm, Joe has worked in the search industry since 1981. Prior to forming Smith and Syberg, Joe served as the Vice President of a large search firm in Indianapolis. Leadership roles have included: Rotary (Club President, Assistant District Governor), Indiana CPA Society, Western Illinois University College of Business and Technology National Advisory Board, Columbus Park Foundation, Turning Point Domestic Violence Services, Child Abuse Prevention Council, United Way, and several local educational and youth organizations.
